Every youth centre tells a story—not just of a building, but of the young people it reaches. The Youth Investment Fund hasn’t just improved buildings; it has opened the door to a secure future. It’s given power and voice to thousands of young people, building confidence, community, and a legacy that will shape young lives for generations to come.
Discover what young people say about their new youth centres.
Feature Film:
Taking Centre Stage
Brighton Youth Centre (BYC) is one of the 276 centres funded by the Youth Investment Fund. Music is the lifeblood of BYC and punk bands like Bluebottles and Livid were given a platform to find their voice. Inspired by BYC’s love of music, we worked with filmmakers Heyday UK to create Centre Stage, a film that follows a touring youth band across newly funded youth centres. The film not only captures young people’s raw creative power but also shows the importance of youth spaces that keep those opportunities alive.
“They are making their voices heard, and that’s valuable. Music is a vessel for young people. They just need a platform to make that happen. If we can give them that, it’s a job well done.”
