Sam Garbett, Operations Manager for Southmead Development Trust in Bristol, shares some key learning from delivering their Youth Investment Fund project and says how vital our Central Support Offer (CSO) and Revenue funding were to delivering a sustainable youth service.

Sam says that the team accessed loads of quality training, networking and support that they know they could trust from the get-go.

Key learning points include having a clear vision for your youth service, developing a business plan, and making sure you include plenty of storage when designing a new service.

Sam says that the revenue funding enabled them to keep their experienced youth work team in place while the building works were underway. Without revenue funding they could not have afforded to continue employing them during construction.
