Youth Work Week returns from 3 – 6 November, celebrating the theme: Building Brighter Futures – Safe places, trusted support and opportunities to thrive. This year’s campaign, led by the National Youth Agency, highlights the vital role youth work plays in helping young people feel secure, supported and empowered.
Youth organisations are invited to take part by submitting photos, videos and other creative content for the Vision for the Future gallery, showcasing why youth clubs matter and what young people want for the future of youth work. There’s also tailored guidance for youth workers and young people to help them engage with the campaign.
We’re encouraging every youth service funded by the Youth Investment Fund to get involved and show how your youth work is helping young people feel secure, supported and empowered.
Youth clubs are encouraged to write to their MPs and share stories that demonstrate the impact of youth work. A range of free online practice sessions will run throughout the week to support youth workers and their learning.
The Lowdown in Northampton is one of hundreds of youth services across England that offers a safe, empowering and caring environment, where young people are supported on their journey towards positive emotional health and wellbeing. It provides free and confidential support services for 8- 25-year-olds across Northamptonshire.
“Personally, this place holds a special place in my heart. The Lowdown saved my life. They encouraged me so much, they gave me so much support, it’s unreal.”
Young person supported by The Lowdown in Northampton.
